Ethical breeding in Kamloops, British Columbia
Our true love for Rhodesian Ridgebacks grew when we brought our first one home in January 2019. And like potato chips, we couldn’t stop at just one.
What originally drew us to this breed was its ability to fit into our lifestyle. We are outdoor enthusiasts and avid hikers and wanted a dog that could keep up in the various extreme climates of Kamloops, BC. The perfect balance of high energy when out on the trails and strong desire to be a couch warmer when at home made them an ideal fit in our lives.
Our first two dogs came from Tamaridge Rhodesian Ridgebacks. We developed a wonderful friendship with our breeder and learned a lot about training, nutrition, and the breed in general. When she took a break from breeding and asked us if we would help carry on her pedigree, we were extremely honoured and excited for the opportunity. So, in 2022, along came our 3rd ridgeback, Casey, our foundation girl and the beginning of a new chapter for us in the ridgeback world.

When choosing our kennel name, we wanted to pay tribute to the history of the breed. Rhodesian Ridgebacks were originally bred to be fearless hunters and are most famously known to pursue lions; keeping them at bay until the hunters arrived. The Katanga lion, also known as the Southwest African lion, is the species found in the region of South Africa where the Rhodesian Ridgeback originated.
We are members in good standing with the following clubs: Kamloops Regional Kennel Club, Canadian Kennel Club, Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of BC, Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Canada, and the Northwest Rhodesian Ridgeback Club.
